About Gigs
At Gigs, we're building the operating system for mobile services—a platform that lets tech companies embed global connectivity into their products effortlessly.
Just as Stripe lets any business add a payment button in seconds, Gigs empowers platforms to weave in connectivity—bridging the traditional world of telecom with modern tech. From fintechs launching mobile services to HR platforms offering work phone plans, we automate provisioning and remove telecom complexity.
Our team of around 150 people across the US and Europe, backed by nearly $100 million in funding from Ribbit Capital, Google, and Y Combinator. As one of the fastest-growing tech companies, bringing together early-stage engineers, product builders, and business athletes from companies like Stripe, Airbnb, and Shopify. We’re tackling deep technical and regulatory challenges to make connectivity truly seamless.
If you’re driven by curiosity, creativity, and the chance to shape the future of telecom, we’d love to hear from you.
Things We Care AboutWe are building in a highly complex space and tackling a massive problem. We want people who lean in when things get hard.
- Speed. We move and we ship. We set bold deadlines and treat every week like it matters.
- Ownership. If you see something broken, fix it. We don't wait for permission.
- Customer Obsession
. Our customers' product is our product. - Ambiguity. We're building frontier technology in a complex domain. You'll need sound judgement and good instincts to make decisions without complete information.
- First principles. We don't ask how things have been done before. We ask why they were done that way at all.
Engineering Managers at Gigs are responsible for enabling a high-performing group of engineers to ship impactful work, grow their skills, and collaborate cross-functionally. This is a hands-on leadership role — you will guide technical execution while helping shape the team’s long-term direction
We are building a modern connectivity platform that powers embedded telecom experiences and the challenges are real: scaling APIs, abstracting telco complexity, and designing systems that are global from day one. This role is to lead Usage, the team that answers the questions every mobile user eventually asks:
How much data do I have left, and why has my service stopped? We turn raw, delayed, and inconsistent carrier records from operators across the US and Europe into a trusted view of each subscriber's balance. We work with partners like Revolut and Nubank to embed this data in their apps, and we also rely on it for billing and support.
Today, the Usage team operates over a billion normalized usage records and processes nearly 4 million new ones every day (~45 per second). It attributes each record to a subscription and keeps usage balances up to date, and the volume keeps growing with every subscriber.
The team has just agreed on the target architecture: a dedicated Usage service that replaces per-record processing with resilient batch pipelines, clean APIs, history, and notifications. We want an Engineering Manager to lead this effort over the next year and shape how the team builds with AI. From there, they'd take Usage further: reconciling it against billing, catching anomalies before customers do, and helping support answer questions by explaining usage, not just displaying it.
