EVENT OPERATIONS MANAGER | BERLIN | COMPETITIVE PACKAGE
If you've built your career turning complex event plans into seamless live experiences,
this could be your next challenge.
I'm working with a rapidly growing European Deep Tech & AI business that is scaling a portfolio of major events, satellite events and senior-level formats - and they're looking for an experienced Operations Manager to take ownership of end-to-end production and delivery.
This isn't a role where you'll simply book suppliers and tick boxes.
You’ll be the person who turns a floorplan into a fully built event.
From suppliers contracted and trucks scheduled, to stages built, signage installed, crews briefed and doors opening on time and in budget
- you’ll own the operational detail that makes the whole experience work.
You’ll be responsible for making sure:
- Major events are produced end-to-end, from initial planning through to live delivery and breakdown
- Venues are transformed from empty spaces into world-class event environments
- Suppliers, contractors and production partners deliver exactly what was agreed
- Operational budgets are forecast, controlled and reconciled effectively
- Build schedules, freight, dock management and contractor access stay on track
- AV, staging, floor plans, signage and physical production are delivered to spec
- 6,000+ attendees can move through the event seamlessly
- Registration, catering, networking spaces and meeting areas enhance the attendee experience
- Sponsors, partners and exhibitors receive everything they’ve been promised
- Run-of-shows, briefing packs and operational plans are watertight
- A large on-site team knows exactly what they’re doing
- Problems are solved calmly and quickly when things inevitably go off plan
- The event opens on time, on budget - and looks incredible when it does
You’ll ideally have 4+ years’ hands‑on experience in event operations or production
, with a track record of delivering conferences, exhibitions or trade shows with 1,000+ attendees
.
You’ll be comfortable with:
- End-to-end event production and project management
- Significant budgets, forecasting, POs and cost control
- Supplier sourcing, negotiation and contract management
- Build, breakdown, freight and venue logistics
- AV, staging and live production management
- Floor plans, signage, way finding and physical event environments
- Planning and leading large on‑site teams
- Run-of-shows, briefing packs and operational documentation
- Creating exceptional attendee experiences
- Working across Partnerships, Content, Marketing and commercial teams
- Making decisions and solving problems under pressure
We’re looking for someone who is operationally obsessive
.
Someone who notices the details others miss— the queue that doesn’t move, the signage nobody reads, the room temperature, the attendee journey between sessions— and fixes the problem before it becomes one.
You’ll also need to be comfortable managing contractors on-site, holding a build schedule together and keeping calm when plans change.
This is a hands‑on, high‑ownership role
. You’ll work closely with senior leadership and the Event Director, while also having the opportunity to build and develop the production team as the organisation scales.
Berlin
You must already be based in Berlin or be genuinely willing to relocate.
On‑site availability during planning and execution is essential, particularly during the six months leading into major events.
The role will also involve delivery across other European locations.
German is advantageous, but not essential
.
Competitive salary and package, dependent on experience
, including:
- Competitive base salary
- Performance‑related bonus tied to operational delivery
- Equity participation
This is an opportunity to build…
