Role & Team
Data is a critical pillar of our product development process, and the Product Analytics team serves as the chief advocate for its quality, consistency, and strategic usage. We are seeking a data‑driven, user‑centric professional to drive the strategy, evaluation, and optimization of our digital products. In this role, you will define how we value user interactions, measure success, and tie product features directly to overarching business outcomes.

At Zalando, our vision is to be the leading pan‑European ecosystem for fashion and lifestyle e‑commerce – one that thrives on diversity and is truly inclusive by design. We believe that diverse teams fuel innovation and creativity, and we actively seek talent from all backgrounds. We actively seek to reduce bias in our hiring and employment processes, focusing on your qualifications, skills, and contributions.
We kindly ask that you refrain from including personal details such as your photo, age, or marital status in your CV, ensuring a fair and equitable evaluation based solely on your abilities and potential. - Drive the implementation and evolution of a standardized, cross‑organizational product performance measurement framework, eliminating metric fragmentation by establishing consistent core KPIs (e.g., Weekly Active Users, Conversion Rate, and the Overall Evaluation Criterion) across all business units.
- Own the technical architecture and attribution models for user value scoring, developing complex data structures to quantify and weigh upper‑funnel engagement actions (browsing, saving, content interaction) and lower‑funnel transactional behaviors.
- Advance the content flywheel into a measurable insight engine that definitively proves how content experiences translate into long‑term financial, visit frequency, and business value.
- Lead the engineering of advanced data solutions and complex analytics pipelines, including session‑level tracking, cross‑premise identity stitching, and methodologies to mitigate the “Winner’s Curse” in product experiments.
- Design, align, and analyze rigorous high‑stakes experimentation, including A/B tests and quasi‑experiments designed to drive sustainable growth across diverse business models.
- Democratize insights and act as a strategic advisor to the Senior Leadership Team, Product Managers, and Applied Scientists.
- 7+ years of experience in product analytics, ideally within a large‑scale e‑commerce or product‑led environment.
- Strong analytical and technical background with high proficiency in SQL and deep experience using Python or R for advanced analytics and building scalable data pipelines.
- Expertise in A/B testing frameworks, user behavior analytics, experiment design, and managing complex attribution or scoring systems.
- Dual understanding of funnel performance, mapping upper‑funnel engagement metrics (views, watch time, retention) to lower‑funnel transactional performance (conversion rate, contribution margin impact).
- Hands‑on experience applying advanced causal inference methodologies (Propensity Score Matching, Difference‑in‑Differences, Synthetic Controls) when randomized controlled trials are unfeasible.
- Proven leadership capability to excel in highly ambiguous environments, shift organizational models, and lead through influence to align senior executives.
- Master storyteller with data, confident in communicating complex technical frameworks into simple, actionable strategic recommendations.
- Experience working with modern data visualization and analytics tools to scale data‑driven accountability.
