The position is based in mathematical population genetics. It focuses on genealogical processes under various combinations of evolutionary forces such as mutation, selection and recombination. The position can either be filled with a postdoc (100 %) or a PhD student (75 %).  starting: as soon as possible  salary according to Remuneration level 13 TV-LYour Tasks  research on stochastic genetic processes (70 %)  collaboration in teaching to the extent of (25 %) (4 LVS for a full-time position / 3 LVS for a position of 75 %)  participation in the organisational and administrative tasks of the group (5 %)Employment is conducive to scientific qualification.

Your Profile We expect:  completed scientific university degree (e. g. Master) in mathematics, biomathematics, or mathematical statistical physics  additionally PhD for the postdoctoral position  solid knowledge in probability theory  solid knowledge of spoken and written English  independent, self-reliant and committed way of working  team ability

We offer  salary according to Remuneration level 13 TV-L  fixed-term for 3 years (§ 2 (1) sentence 1 or 2 of the WissZeitVG; in accordance with the provisions of the WissZeitVG and the Agreement on Satisfactory Conditions of Employment, thelength of the contract may differ in individual cases)  fulltime/part-time (full-time in the case of a postdoc, otherwise 75 % part-time)  internal and external training opportunities  variety of health, consulting and prevention services  reconcilability of family and work  flexible working hours  job ticket for regional public transport network, good transport connection
