**** Join us as our new Laboratory Technician R&D
** You will be part of the fermentation team within the HMO R&D in Bonn. We collaborate with strain engineers, analysts and other experts in order to deliver new HMO producing strains and optimize HMO production processes.

The Research & Development department of the Chr. Hansen HMO GmbH in Bonn (Germany) is part of the Novonesis group. The HMO R&D consists of scientists with different expertise such as molecular biology, fermentation, analytics, chemistry, and systems biology. We are working in a matrix structure with flat hierarchies.

** In this role you’ll make an impact by:
*** Execute on lab scale fermentations for HMO development:
Preparation and maintenance of equipment, preparation of material, sampling, sample preparation and analysis
* Documentation of results
* General lab maintenance
* Supporting function in fermentation related projects
** To succeed you must hold:
*** Technical education (BTA, CTA, MTA, or similar) or a BSc in biotechnology, food technology, analytical chemistry or a related field in life science
* Familiar with sterile working techniques and used to work with genetically engineered organisms
* Hands-on experience with fermentation processes
* Knowledge about analytical chemistry is a bonus
* Fluent in English; able to work in English and German
* Curious and passionate for science and industrial applications
* Pro-active, self-driven and motivated, able to work independent
