Background:
UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.
The Strategy, Planning, Results, and Effectiveness Division (SPRED), under the direct supervision of the Assistant Secretary General (ASG) / Deputy Executive Director Resource Management, Sustainability and Partnerships,leads the integrated management of UN Women’scorporate strategy, including strategic planning, project and programme management and implementation support, results and performance management, and internal governance. Together, these functions strengthen UN Women’s second line of defense, enabling coherence, efficiency, transparency and accountability across the organization’s triple mandate, and supporting the delivery of gender equality, the empowerment of women and girls, and the realization of their rights in line with the UN Women Strategic Plan and the 2030 Agenda.
Within SPRED, the Corporate Performance and Accountability Unit (CPAU) brings together key second-line functions-risk management, internal audit follow-up, internal policy management, organizational performance, and business transformation-into one integrated team. Its purpose is to strengthen accountability, promote coherent oversight, and ensure that risk-informed decision-making is embedded across UN Women. The unit supports SPRED in driving transparent, efficient and consistent delivery of corporate performance objectives, aligning organizational performance monitoring with strategic planning processes.
Through this, CPAU enhances the Entity’s ability to safeguard fiduciary integrity, maintain robust assurance mechanisms, and strengthen UN Women’s overall culture of accountability and results.
Under the supervision of the Chief, CPAU, the Research and Coordination Analyst - Business Transformation contributes to the effective running ofbusiness transformation and business transformation initiatives through research and analysis products, developing and implementing select components of the business transformation plan and through technical contributions to the business transformation strategy overall.
With business transformation a key component of the Organizational Efficiency and Effectiveness section of UN Women’s Strategic Plan , the Analyst will work with colleagues across the house to make sure that these ambitions are realized. Specifically, they will provide substantive inputs to the organization’s strategy relating to this part of the Strategic Plan, as well as carrying out the implementation of specific components thereof.
KeyFunctions and Accountabilities:
Contribute technically to the implementation of a business transformation and the Strategic Plan development process
- Prepare background documents, guidance notes, briefs and presentations related to business transformation
- Liaise and mange relationships with all relevant focal points in UN Women to gather data, validate information and prepare appropriate communication products for internal and external use
- Organize meetings, take minutes and ensure appropriate follow-up actions as required
- Prepare, review and analyze papers
- Provide operating context analysis to inform the business transformation strategy
