Head of Product — Quantum Software

Location: Remote within Europe, with regular presence in Bremen

Direct Reports: None initially

Working Model: Remote / hybrid. Regular time on-site in Bremen.

Own the product direction for Constructor's quantum software line and act as the bridge between a research group and a technology platform. This is a hands‑on role in a small technical team, not portfolio management. The Head of Product decides what gets built, keeps research and engineering pointed at something shippable, and owns the relationship with the customers and partners who use it.

• Own the roadmap for the quantum software line and the decisions behind it.
• Define which capabilities go into the Constructor technology platform and in what order.
• Translate research capability into product that someone outside the group will pay for or use.
• Kill work that is not going anywhere, and say so clearly.

Success Metrics and KPIs: roadmap delivered, features adopted, decisions made and held.

• Sit between physicists and engineers and keep both productive.
• Run planning and prioritisation for a small, senior, opinionated team.
• Hold the technical depth to challenge both sides rather than relay between them.

Accountability: research output converted into shipped product.

• Own customer, partner and vendor relationships directly.
• Work with Constructor Tech and Constructor University on joint offerings and teaching applications.
• Represent the group externally at conferences and with partners.

Success Metrics and KPIs: partner engagements initiated and sustained, external visibility of the group.

• Technical background in physics, engineering or computer science, with enough depth to hold your own with research scientists.
• Taken scientific or deep-tech software from research prototype to product.
• Run customer and partner engagements personally, not through a sales team.
• Worked somewhere small enough that the product person also does the work.

• Strong facilitation. You will be the person keeping a room of physicists on track.
• Comfortable being the only product person present.
• Able to say no and explain why.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical audiences.

• Degree in a technical discipline; postgraduate qualification an advantage.
• Fluent English.

• Hands‑on, senior, and accountable for what the group ships.
• A role with real decision authority over direction.
• Externally facing.

• A programme or portfolio management role.
• A role with a product team reporting into it from day one.
• A commercial role without technical substance.
