We are seeking a skilled LEO System Engineer to join our team and work on‑site at our client’s premises in Darmstadt, Germany.

EUMETSAT operates satellites to monitor weather, climate, and the changing environment. They are responsible for helping to isolate potentially dangerous weather conditions that could affect air travel, farming and other key service industries.

The scope of work will include:

• Providing engineering support for the definition and development of ground segments for upcoming LEO missions.
• Providing consultancy on engineering aspects related to the design and procurement of ground segments for future LEO missions.
• Supporting technical and programmatic coordination activities for future LEO missions.
• Assisting the ground segment managers and LEO future mission programmes in their daily activities.

The following skills and experience are mandatory:

• Experience in end‑to‑end data acquisition and processing.
• Background in mission control systems and operations.
• Proficient in requirements‑based design, development, and verification of satellite ground systems.
• Familiarity with requirement management processes and tools, such as DOORS.
• Background in implementing processes guided by standards, especially ECSS and CCSDS.
• Knowledgeable in system change control and configuration management procedures.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

The following skills and experience would be highly desirable:

• Experience with Low-Earth Orbiting satellites.
• Skilled in aspects of space missions, especially ground segment development for EPS‑SG, Aeolus, and constellation‑based satellites.
• Skilled in aspects of space missions, especially ground segment development for EPS‑SG, Aeolus, and constellation‑based satellites.
• Experienced in applying Model‑Based Systems Engineering tools (e.g., Enterprise Architect).
