Your responsibilities at HECHTConsultative & Technical Support
- Participate in design reviews, assessing containment concepts against hygiene and regulatory requirements
- Support customers in the design and implementation of exposure monitoring programmes (chemical and HPAPI)
- Provide technically sound, data-driven guidance on containment verification, exposure limits, and OEB banding
- Assist during Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and SMEPAC qualification activities
- Organize laboratory analyses in collaboration with accredited external laboratories (interpretation, not bench work)
Internal Capability Development
- Contribute to the development and documentation of HECHT´s internal occupational hygiene expertise and methodologies
- Support the positioning of HECHT as an independent occupational hygiene and containment compliance partner
- Operate an maintain monitoring instruments and basic laboratory-related equipment used in field campaigns
- Work closely with Sales and Engineering teams to integrate occupational hygiene thinking into customer proposals and projects
This is a new and strategically important role will be core part of our growing Occupational Health and Hygiene Team, supporting customers across the full lifecycle of chemical and HPAPI exposure risk management. You will be responsible for conducting occupational hygiene assessments, assisting with health and safety program evaluation and development and delivering training sessions to our clients. Your work will play a crucial role in protecting workers' health and ensuring regulatory compliance.
You will be a major contributor on our team from day one and pivitol in Hecht’s success in the market.
We are looking for someone with the right academic foundation, intellectual curiosity, and professional drive to grow into this role — with structured support around them. A recently graduated MSc or PhD candidate with the right background and the right mindset is as welcome as someone with a few years of relevant experience.
Qualifications
- MSc degree (minimum) in Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a closely related discipline
- Affinity with occupational health, exposure science, or risk assessment - demonstrated through coursework, thesis, or early career experience
- Practical experience in a relevant industrial setting is an advantage, but not a prerequisite

- Strong analytical thinking and a structured, data-driven approach to problem solving
- Genuine interest in chemistry, industrial processes, and the science of exposure assessment
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a customer-facing environment
- Professional communication skills in English (written and spoken);
German is an advantage - Travel up to 50% within Europe
