SummaryThe CNC Machinist operates CNC and/or conventional lathes or milling machines within a cellular production environment. The role requires the ability to operate two or more machines simultaneously while maintaining quality and efficiency.
In addition to CNC equipment, the CNC Machinist may also operate conventional honing or drilling machines.
The CNC Operator may work in a two-shift operation and must be able to work independently while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Set up and operate CNC and conventional machining equipment within the manufacturing cell.
- Perform machine setups, tool changes, and basic preventive maintenance to ensure efficient production.
- Monitor machining processes, identify tool wear or quality deviations, and make necessary adjustments.
- Perform secondary operations such as deburring, drilling, tapping, and chip removal.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, process sheets, and machining specifications.
- Conduct dimensional inspections using precision measuring instruments to ensure product quality.
- Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized, and 5S-compliant work environment.
- Collaborate with team members and support other manufacturing cells when required.
- Experience in setting and operating CNC lathes.
- Experience in setting and operating CNC milling machines.
- Experience with CAM software preferred.
- Experience producing high-quality, close-tolerance machined components.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word, and applicable company systems
- Excellent communication skills in German.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Strong Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) knowledge.
- Knowledge of machining speeds and feeds for various types of metals.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, electronic gauges, and calipers.
- Technical school diploma or equivalent experience.
