Manufacturing Team Lead

Contractor Salary : €91,000 per year

I'm currently recruiting for a key client of mine operating within the aerospace industry who has an urgent requirement for a Manufacturing Team Lead (MAP Lead) to join their growing operation on a contract basis.

The Manufacturing Team Lead (MAP Lead) will be responsible for leading day-to-day Manufacturing, Assembly, and Production (MAP) activities within a highly regulated aerospace manufacturing environment.

This role combines hands‑on manufacturing leadership with operational oversight, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and customer requirements are consistently achieved. The successful candidate will act as the focal point for production teams, driving efficiency, continuous improvement, and manufacturing excellence whilst supporting the development of team members across the shop floor.

The position requires a strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes, production planning, assembly operations, and people management.

• Lead and supervise Manufacturing, Assembly, and Production activities across the facility.
• Manage daily production priorities to ensure customer delivery schedules and operational targets are achieved.
• Provide leadership, direction, and support to Manufacturing Technicians, Assemblers, and Production personnel.
• Coordinate production activities to maximise efficiency, quality, and resource utilisation.
• Monitor workflow, capacity, and production performance to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
• Support the introduction of new products and manufacturing processes into production.
• Ensure manufacturing activities are completed in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, quality requirements, and customer specifications.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, cost, and delivery performance.
• Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Programme teams to resolve production issues and improve manufacturing performance.
• Support root cause investigations and corrective actions relating to quality or production concerns.
• Ensure compliance with aerospace standards, company procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead daily production meetings and provide updates on manufacturing performance, risks, and priorities.
• Support workforce planning, training, and development activities within the team.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) relating to productivity, quality, delivery, and safety.
• Promote a positive culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing function.

• Previous experience in a Manufacturing Team Lead, Production Team Lead, Manufacturing Supervisor, or similar leadership role.
• Strong background within aerospace, defence, precision engineering, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
• Proven experience leading production teams and coordinating manufacturing activities.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes, assembly operations, and production planning.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.
• Experience working within AS9100, ISO
  9001, or similar quality-controlled environments.
• Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
• Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong people management experience, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
