Network Architect | up to £800/day (Inside IR35) | 12-Month Contract | Hybrid (Bristol - 3 days on site)
iO are seeking an experienced Network Architect to lead the design and delivery of secure network solutions for a major programme within a highly secure environment. This is a key role, offering long-term engagement and the opportunity to shape network architecture from design through deployment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the project Network Architect and Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing expert-level design guidance and technical leadership.
• Develop High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Architecture Overview Documents using industry-leading network technologies.
• Create detailed Low-Level Designs (LLDs) and configuration documents to support implementation and build activities.
• Lead technical solution delivery from initial design through deployment and operational handover.
• Engage in design workshops, ensuring architectural coherence and alignment across the wider project delivery team.
• Support governance activities, including technical reviews, risk assessments, and documentation.
• Contribute to the design and development of appropriate test documentation.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience in designing and delivering network solutions within high-security or mission-critical environments.
• Strong expertise in network protocols and technologies including routing, switching, VPNs, firewalls, and load balancing.
• Confident collaborating across technical teams and engaging with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Familiarity with network automation and hybrid/cloud environments (AWS, Azure) is desirable.
