Data Architect - SAP, MDM & Data Governance

Location: Leonberg, Germany – Hybrid (3 days onsite per week)

We’re looking for an experienced Data Architect to help shape and develop the enterprise-wide data landscape of a growing international industrial business.

This is an opportunity to join a developing organisation where you can make an immediate impact, establishing data architecture standards, driving Master Data Management (MDM) and building a reliable, scalable data foundation to support wider digital transformation.

Combining technical architecture with business stakeholder engagement, you’ll work closely with enterprise architecture, IT teams and business leaders to turn complex requirements into practical, sustainable solutions.

• Define and evolve enterprise-wide data architecture strategy, principles and target models in line with business objectives.
• Establish and govern Master Data Management (MDM) frameworks across business processes and enterprise applications.
• Develop data governance standards covering data ownership, stewardship, quality and lifecycle management.
• Drive data integration across SAP ERP, CRM, PLM, customer portals and other enterprise systems.
• Design scalable data models and modern data platforms to support reliable, secure and consistent data flows.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to translate requirements into effective architecture solutions.
• Ensure data architecture aligns with information security, data protection and regulatory requirements.
• Promote the adoption of data standards and governance practices across the organisation.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and best practices in data management and enterprise architecture.

• A university degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Business Informatics or a related discipline.
• At least five years of relevant experience in Data Architecture, Data Management, Master Data Management or Enterprise Architecture.
• Strong experience in data architecture and data modelling.
• Practical knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM), data governance and data quality management.
• Experience working with SAP ERP environments.
• Understanding of data integration, API-based architectures and enterprise data platforms.
• Experience navigating complex enterprise systems, ideally involving ERP, CRM and PLM.
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Confident stakeholder management and communication skills across business and IT.
• A pragmatic, proactive approach and the ability to drive adoption and manage resistance to change.
• Fluent English is essential;
  German language skills are advantageous.

• Salary of €80,000–€120,000, depending on experience.
• Hybrid working, with three days onsite per week in Leonberg.
