Category Management Lead (f/m/x) Battery Cells

As a member of our Purchasing Department, you’ll operate with perfectly coordinated supply chains and the latest innovations in the industry. Always at your side: a well-matched team, working together all across Europe

• You define sourcing strategies for lithium-ion battery cells, leveraging your market insight and technical understanding of chemistries like NMC, LFP and solid-state to secure a competitive supplier base.
• Your negotiation skills and contract expertise enable you to manage agreements that cover critical specifications such as electrode materials, electrolyte composition and compliance.
• With strong analytical capabilities, you identify cost optimization opportunities in cell formats—prismatic, pouch or cylindrical—and translate these into actionable initiatives that balance performance and cost.
• You build long-term supplier partnerships by ensuring traceability of raw materials like lithium, nickel and cobalt, while driving innovation in energy density, cycle life and thermal stability.
• You lead cross-functional teams to align technical requirements for battery pack integration, BMS compatibility and automotive safety standards with commercial objectives, ensuring seamless collaboration across engineering and procurement.

• University degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field – ideally with exposure to battery cell sourcing, electrochemistry, or cell manufacturing environments

• 3–5 years of professional experience in strategic procurement or category management, preferably in energy storage or automotive battery sectors
  .
• Familiarity with procurement systems like SAP MM, SRM, PLM and ability to manage technical BOMs (Bill of Materials).
• Understanding of APQP, PPAP, and IATF 16949 processes for quality assurance in battery production.
• Strategic thinking and analytical skills, including cost modeling for cell production and lifecycle analysis
