Production Engineer​/Penang, Malaysia

• New Product Introduction (NPI) with responsibility for ensuring production quality through structured quality planning methods
• Perform and document First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with applicable standards and requirements.
• Evaluate and implement new production technologies to continuously improve efficiency and manufacturing capabilities.
• Define and document assembly procedures and requirements to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production processes.
• Maintain and update production data within the PLM system.
• Act as the primary technical contact for contract manufacturers, providing support on manufacturing-related questions and during onsite audits.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions with the contract manufacturer to continuously improve product quality and quality related KPIs.
• Perform quality checks and occasional product modifications (e.g. visual inspection, or revision change for pilot productions)
• Evaluate and implement design for manufacturing (DFM) feedback
• Implement and release software applications (e.g., BIOS, firmware) into production.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration of inspection equipment.

Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in Electronics / Manufacturing Engineerin or similiar
• min 4 years professional experience in a related field
• Knowledge of quality management systems ISO 9001
• Experience with quality tools including FMEA, APQP, root cause analysis methods (Ishikawa, 5-Why, 8D) and Control Plans
• Understanding of manufacturing processes for electronics (PCBA) in the computer field
• Ability to analyze quality data and implement preventive actions (CAPA)
• Ability to analyze schematics and PCB layout files and evaluate their manufacturability
• Ability to analyze production processes, issues and identify potentials for improvement and risks
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and accurate usage of measurement devices
• Base level understanding of x86 and ARM computer architecture, functional test principles and software on component level
• Proficiency in visual inspection to standard IPC-A-610
• Experience with conducting or supporting supplier audits as second party participant.
• Effectiveness and assertiveness in written and spoken communication in English
• Understanding different cultures and their way of communication
