About the Position:
Serves as a Licensed Practical Nurse for an overseas Defense Health Agency (DHA) Medical Treatment Facility (MTF). Performs direct patient care, patient screenings, and ensures accurate documentation to support medical evaluations and treatment planning.

• Obtains information from patients to identify reasons for seeking health care.
• Provides individualized nursing care to patients based upon the physician's medical care plan, the nursing assessment, and emotional needs of the patient.
• Reviews records and Standard Operating Procedures to determine required immunizations and proper usage requirements.
• Administers immunizations via proper routes in accordance with established protocols.
• Educates patients regarding self-care procedures.
• Performs administrative and logistical tasks to maintain the environment and resources necessary for healthcare delivery.

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.

• One year trial/probationary period may be required.

• This position requires regular contact with children under the age 18 and a favorable determination of suitability to do so and periodic re-verification check of multiple agency records.
• This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
• This is a drug testing designated position (TDP) subject to pre-employment drug test and random drug testing.
• This position is identified as Mission Essential which may require you to work or remain at work during an emergency situation or when inclement weather has curtailed operations (e.g., threat to the facility, natural disaster, delayed reporting).
• This position requires lifting and moving moderate to heavy items up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
• This position requires Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel approximately 5% of the time away from your permanent duty station.
• This position requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association (AHA).
• This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations to include tuberculosis.
• This position has a mandatory annual seasonal influenza immunization requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations in accordance with Department of Defense Instruction (DoDI) 6205.02.
• This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete and maintain credentialing and privileging requirements.
• This position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer.
