We are looking for an experienced and strategically driven Director Commercial who acts as the driving force for Commercial Excellence, transformation and digitalization across the segment, setting the strategic and governance framework for all commercial activities. This role reports directly to the Vice President Sales and combines senior leadership, commercial excellence, portfolio transformation and overarching business responsibility.

What you contribute
  • Leadership & Organizational Development
    • Lead (functionally & disciplinarily), develop and empower a cross-functional and international organization including Product Management and Sales Offices
    • Drive organizational effectiveness, foster talent development and build a high-performance culture across the full commercial setup
    • Ensure alignment across all sales organizations and functions
  • End-to-End Commercial Responsibility
    • Hold overarching accountability for commercial performance across countries and sales units
    • Drive revenue, profitability and sustainable growth across the full segment portfolio
    • Ensure achievement of AOP and mid-term targets
  • Develop and implement the segment strategy across product groups and regions
  • Lead the transformation from commodity-driven business to a specialties-focused portfolio
  • Define and drive the Commercial Excellence agenda, including pricing governance, sales processes, and performance frameworks across the entire sales specialties organization
  • Establish standardized tools, methodologies and KPIs across all regions and sales units
  • Act as the owner of pricing governance and frameworks
  • Commercial Steering & Performance Management
    • Define and ensure implementation of pricing strategies and governance in alignment with Commercial Excellence and Product & Portfolio
    • Oversee forecasting, reporting and performance tracking across regions
    • Ensure systematic customer and product portfolio steering
  • Market & Customer Leadership
    • Maintain and expand strategic relationships with key customers and stakeholders
    • Represent the company at industry events, associations and conferences
    • Ensure deep market and customer insights across all regions
  • Processes, Systems & Projects
  • Drive digital transformation of the commercial organization, including CRM evolution, data-driven decision making and automation
  • Leverage data analytics and digital tools to enhance pricing, forecasting and customer insights
  • Lead strategic and cross-functional projects while collaborating closely with internal stakeholders (Sales, Plants, NBD, TCS, Marketing, R&D)
Your Profile / Qualifications
  • University degree in business administration, finance, sales or economics or other relevant fields
  • Several years of leadership experience (min. 7+ years) in sales / commercial roles combined with a proven track record in leading larger, international and cross-functional teams
  • Strong experience in sales strategy, execution and business development, preferably within the metal processing industry and proven track record in driving growth and profitability
  • Deep understanding of market dynamics, portfolio management and value creation
  • Strong analytical, strategic and entrepreneurial mindset combined with a high level of ownership and drive for results
  • Strong leadership skills, and excellent communication & stakeholder management skills
  • Fluent English skills (written & verbal), German skills beneficial

The role can be staffed in any Sales Office location or Grevenbroich / Hamburg.
