To one of our 30 hybrid work spaces – designed for exchanging ideas, learning from others, and shaping the way we work.

United by one mission:
Combining empathy, advanced technology and data-driven insights to keep people and businesses in flow. With payments made for them. So that they don’t have to worry about it.

And there’s more. We are part of the family‑owned Bertelsmann group. Established. Corporate. In a fast‑paced industry. We enable flexible payments in various industries, simplifying the financial management of known brands and helping people repay debt to build financial confidence. In short: shaping Fin Tech.

As a Product Manager in Customer Risk, you will be part of a cross‑functional, agile product team that is responsible for our central risk decision engine in the area of e‑commerce, payments, and banking. Your mission is to drive the evolution of the Risk Decision Workflow Engine – balancing fraud and credit risk mitigation, acceptance rates, compliance, and scalability, while ensuring real business impact across multiple product lines.

This is a hands‑on opportunity to help build and improve how risk and fraud prevention are designed and operated across our systems – combining analytical thinking with technical problem‑solving in the payments domain.

Key responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the Risk Decision Workflow Engine roadmap, with a focus on fraud prevention, credit risk and creditworthiness assessment, compliance with regulatory frameworks, and decision workflows across products and markets
  • Work hands‑on within our Risk Decision Workflow Engine, maintaining and adjusting decision logic, workflows, and configurations directly on the platform in close collaboration with our engineering and risk teams
  • Drive end‑to‑end product execution, partnering with engineering, fraud and risk product managers, data science, and product teams to deliver scalable decisioning solutions for internal and external stakeholders
  • Enable and scale machine learning‑based decisioning together with our Data Science teams, including experimentation and performance optimization
  • Evaluate and integrate new data sources, technologies, and external providers to improve decision quality

Skills and qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in product ownership, IT business analysis, or risk analysis within technology‑driven environments, with the ability to take end‑to‑end product responsibility
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems, understanding system dependencies and business constraints
  • Experience working with workflow engines or rule‑based systems; alternatively, experience designing decision flows or process models in workflow‑driven environments
  • Programming skills in any language, ideally with exposure to backend systems; knowledge of JavaScript/Type Script is a plus
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience in data analysis or processing, e.g. Using SQL, Python
  • Fluency in English as the main working language
  • Willing to move quickly and decisively to resolve urgent problems
  • Ideally experience in the e‑commerce, fintech, or payments domain
