Software Test Engineer; m​/f​/d

Position

We are seeking a self‑motivated, energetic Software Test Engineer (m/f/d) to join the Cell and Biomolecular Analysis Division, where we develop best‑in‑class automated electrophoresis instruments and reagent product lines.

• Design, develop, and execute manual and automated software tests, including test plans and test cases, to ensure Agilent products meet quality objectives, customer requirements, applicable standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Use test tools and frameworks based on functional and design specifications, and measure, track, and report test coverage across relevant dimensions.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, architects, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements, acceptance criteria, and definitions of done, ensuring testability, consistency, and completeness.
• Analyze test results, assess and communicate risk during execution, and document outcomes, defects, and deviations to support follow‑up actions and product improvements.
• Review and approve peer test results where applicable, and complete assignments with clearly defined objectives while maintaining high‑quality standards.

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or equivalent university degree, typically with 5+ years of relevant experience in software testing, quality assurance, or a related field.
• Experience working in Agile Scrum environments, with proficiency in Atlassian tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Bit Bucket for requirements management, collaboration, and test coverage tracking.
• Hands‑on experience with laboratory analytical instrumentation is highly desirable; experience with test automation frameworks and/or software programming is strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively in diverse international teams.
• Excellent English communication skills;
  German language proficiency is an advantage.
