We are seeking a dedicated, implementation‑focused Risk Manager who understands risk management not only as a theoretical framework but also as an active component of our daily business processes. In this role, you will sit at the interface between strategy and execution.

As a Risk Manager in the Operations function, you will play a key role in the interaction between production and the factory facility. You will proactively drive innovative solutions, design workflows and interfaces with all stakeholders. You will be part of a team of 16 colleagues. Your Role Within SMT Operations, identify risks at the facility and equipment level and establish risk management related to fire protection advisory

Actively support day‑to‑day operations, identify potential operational risks, and develop pragmatic solutions directly with the business units

Lead cross‑functional strategic and operational projects, identify key machines and core processes in the production network, and classify them by criticality

Serve as the central point of contact for the ZEISS Group Insurance unit, plan and moderate audits, and implement insurance recommendations for SMT GmbHDevelop necessary safeguards in collaboration with Facility Management, Master Planning, Industrial Engineering, Fire Protection Officers, and external partners, and accompany their implementation through project management

Prepare policy documents for machine asset protection and develop decision briefs for implementing possible courses of action

Transfer new facilities into a legally compliant normal operation, perform risk assessments of production‑critical SMT plant components, and strengthen risk awareness (Risk Culture) in the company

Your Profile Successfully completed technical or business university studies, ideally with a focus on engineering, industrial engineering, or Risk Management at the diploma or master level

Relevant experience in project management and in steering cross‑functional initiatives with many interfaces, ideally complemented by project management qualifications (comparable to a GPM certification, e.g., GPM Level B/C)
Solid expertise in risk assessment and production processes and methods (e.g., value streams)
In‑depth technical understanding of complex machinery and good knowledge of relevant legal requirements and regulations

Strong communication, moderation, and organizational skills, as well as confident stakeholder management across functions and levels
