The Division of Theory of Polymers, the Soft Matter Theory and Polymer Physics Department is looking to fill a Doctoral student (m/f/d) with 30 hours per week.
- Theoretical investigation of the formation and function of finite-sized biomolecular condensates (100-nm-scale protein clusters e.g. (Sie können sich bewerben oder uns per E-Mail kontaktieren in dem Sie die untenstehende Online-Bewerbungsbox verwenden))
- Using reaction-diffusion models to study the potential functional role they play in cellular functions
- Using coarse-grained simulations to understand the physics that drives their formation and why they remain finite sized
- Engage with an experimental collaborator at the IPF (Dr. Kar) to help him design experiments to test the theoretical results
Requirements:
- Completed Master‘s degree (or equivalent) in physics or a related field such as chemistry
Soft Skills:
- Ideally, prior experience in the theory/simulation of soft matter systems
- Interest in scientific collaboration with experimental partner
