The Division of Biological Physics of the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems (MPI‑PKS) seeks one Research Group Leader. At MPI‑PKS, we develop theoretical and quantitative approaches to biological systems. Candidates will complement this research with their research programme in theoretical biophysics – at scales from molecules to cells to organisms – or related areas, including soft matter physics and the physics of non‑equilibrium and nonlinear processes.

Successful candidates should have several years of research experience after their doctoral degree, and are expected to contribute to our close, interdisciplinary collaborations with experimental groups at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics.

We offer a position for a period of 5 years with TVöD EG 15 salary and the possibility of renewal. Funds are available for postdocs and PhD students. The required equipment and office space will be provided. The Max Planck Institute aims to increase the number of women in scientific positions.
