European Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (ESMC) is a joint venture between four technology leaders, TSMC, Bosch, Infineon and NXP, to establish a state‑of‑the‑art semiconductor fab in the heart of Europe. To help us build the foundation of our future fab in Dresden, we are looking for a highly motivated and passionate:

Chemical Analysis Engineer (m/f/d)

the cornerstone of our material and environmental quality assurance:
Safeguard the integrity of our semiconductor manufacturing process by ensuring the highest quality of all incoming materials, maintaining a pristine Fab environment, and optimizing our state‑of‑the‑art analytical instruments. Lead our chemical analysis capabilities, collaborate across diverse teams and time zones to meet the exact demands of cutting‑edge semiconductor production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Infrastructure & Capability Building:
    Architect, design, and establish cutting‑edge chemical laboratory capabilities and capacity specifically tailored for advanced Fab environment and raw material quality management.
  • Operational Excellence:
    Cooperate closely with Facility and Fab teams to execute routine raw material monitoring, provide rapid and effective troubleshooting for critical events, and verify continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Cross‑Organizational Leadership:
    Leverage your deep analytical resources and expertise to coach and empower stakeholders, ensuring data quality, and supporting troubleshooting efforts.
  • Strategic Expertise & Development:
    Cultivate and expand domain expertise to proactively address chemical analytical requirements, developing and implementing a strategic analytical roadmap.
  • Emergency Response:
    Be prepared for weekend and night‑shift on‑duty assignments to handle urgent cases and maintain continuous operational integrity.
  • Team Leadership & Development:
    Define, develop, and refine Operating Instructions (OIs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Lead a dedicated group of technicians.
Job Qualifications:
  • Education:

    Bachelor's or Master’s degree or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field.
  • Experience:

    Minimum of 8 years of progressive working experience in the semiconductor industry, chemical laboratories, or a closely related field.
  • Analytical expertise:
    Significant hands‑on experience in chemical analysis, with deep expertise in techniques such as ICP‑MS, GC‑MS, IC, and various organic analysis methods.
  • Lab & material expertise:
    Proven experience in managing chemical laboratories, navigating complex chemical regulations, and comprehensive understanding of semiconductor raw materials.
  • Project & stakeholder management:
    Extensive experience in leading projects with multidisciplinary international teams, coupled with exceptional communication skills for engaging and influencing stakeholders.
  • Quality & risk management:
    Significant experience in management of analytical instruments, standard samples, Statistical Process Control (SPC), process change management, risk management, structured problem solving, and conducting supplier audits.
  • Leadership:
    Experience in leading a small team is a significant plus.
  • Mindset:
    Team‑oriented with a positive attitude, flexible and detail‑focused, communicative and collaborative, resilient under pressure.
  • Language:
    Fluent in English (company language). Basic communication skills in Mandarin or German are a plus.
  • Training:
    Available for on‑the‑job training in Taiwan, 6 to 9 months.
