Senior Accountant – Germany (Onsite) – Up to €95,000 + benefits – Permanent

A leading finance consultancy is seeking an an experienced Senior Accountant to support financial reporting and cost control for ongoing projects within the construction industry.

This role involves bookkeeping, managing accounts payable/receivable, and ensuring compliance with German tax laws. The ideal candidate possesses strong knowledge of HGB (Handelsgesetzbuch) and German tax regulations and is proficient in accounting software such as SAP, DATEV, or similar systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee bookkeeping and manage accounts payable/receivable for construction projects.
• Track project costs and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Assist with month-end closing processes and financial statement preparation.
• Ensure compliance with German tax laws (UStG, EStG).
• Support cost control efforts to maintain financial efficiency in projects.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure financial data accuracy.
• Utilize accounting software (SAP, DATEV, Tagetik) to manage financial data and reporting.

Key Requirements

• Significant accounting experience, preferably in the construction or project-based sector.
• Strong knowledge of HGB and German tax regulations (UStG, EStG).
• Fluency in German (C1/C2) and English (B2/C1).
• Proficiency in SAP, DATEV, Tagetik, or similar accounting software.
• Experience in project cost tracking, financial reporting, and month-end closing.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative working approach.
