Choose the best place for your work –
Within the scope of this position, it is possible, in consultation with your manager, to work mobile (within Germany) up to an average volume of 60% of the respective working hours.

Even more flexibility? Mobile working from abroad is possible for up to 30 days a year under certain conditions and in selected countries.

• You own the technical vision, your team's architecture roadmap, and the continuous evolution of the MR reconstruction framework within our open, digital application ecosystem.
• Together with your agile team, you define and evolve the software architecture and technology standards, drive key architectural decisions and ensure alignment with adjacent teams.
• You partner closely with product management, research collaborators, and architects from adjacent platforms to translate business and research requirements into scalable, maintainable, and future-proof technical solutions.
• You foster engineering excellence within your team by establishing architectural principles, mentoring engineers, proactively addressing technical risks, and promoting modern software engineering practices that strengthen developer productivity and ensure quality, maintainability, and extensibility of the framework.
• You enable the research community to implement new MR reconstruction solutions by designing and delivering technical trainings and knowledge sharing formats.

• You hold a Master's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Medical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
• You have many years of hands‑on experience in designing software architectures and scalable software frameworks for digital services, including API design, containerization, and developer‑focused platforms.
• You have repeatedly delivered complex software systems in C++ and Python, combining architectural ownership with hands‑on software development.
• You have demonstrated the ability to provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and drive architectural decisions in a cross‑functional environment.
• Experience with MRI imaging techniques, digital image processing, and the development of software for regulated medical devices is highly desirable.
• You’re passionate about modern software engineering practices and technologies, including Dev Ops, AI‑assisted development, containerization, and scalable platform design.

• You possess excellent English skills for smooth team internal communication as well as for international exchange, e.g., with India. Additional knowledge in German is considered a plus.
• You take pride in crafting software that meets the highest standards of quality and reliability.
• Personally, you have strong teamwork and collaboration skills, including active listening and respectful dialogue.
