Investment Banking overview
Nomura’s Investment Banking Division provides advisory and capital-raising solutions to corporations, financial institutions, governments and public‑sector organizations around the world. Our global teams act as geographic, product and industry specialists. We connect clients directly to Asia, accessing deep pools of liquidity and dynamic growth markets.
In EMEA, we operate across targeted industry sectors and in most major European countries to deliver strategic advice to clients wishing to acquire, combine or sell businesses or looking for financing and risk management solutions.
Nomura’s Frankfurt based German coverage team provides comprehensive and innovative advisory, financing and risk solutions services to private equity firms and corporates across all sectors. The team has a longstanding track‑record of successfully executed M&A transactions both private and public. Recent mandates include advising Partners Group on their disposal of a 100% stake in VSB to Total Energies, advising UGG (JV between Allianz Capital Partners and Telefonica) on their acquisition of a 100% Stake in Infra fibre Germany, advising Black Rock on their acquisition of a 50.1% stake in Mainova Web House and advising Grifols on their public takeover offer for Biotest.
As a Graduate Analyst, you will receive dedicated training and support to develop your career and professional skills. This focusses on financial statement analysis, modelling, valuation, financing, and deal structuring, alongside business speakers, networking opportunities and the opportunity to work with your global counterparts. You will receive professional development training and Nomura’s Orientation to help you maximise your potential. The training programme ensures that the emphasis is on practical application so that you are able to immediately contribute to our business.
Throughout your career development you will be supported both by a buddy, mentor and dedicated programme management team.

Successful candidates should have:
- Show a demonstrable interest in M&A and the financial markets, ready to support our DACH coverage team.
- Proven record of academic excellence
- Strong base of corporate finance, accounting and valuation knowledge
- High level of attention to detail with strong analytical abilities
- Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team‑oriented environment
- Fluency in German and English
