Head of Technology

Un Fold Mart  is building the next generation of AI-powered search and visibility technology, helping businesses understand and win their presence across AI answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews) as well as traditional search.

We're looking for a hands‑on Head of Technology to own our AI search product end‑to‑end, from technical architecture and infrastructure to team leadership and delivery velocity. This is a founding technical leadership role: you'll shape not just what we build, but how our engineering organization operates as we scale.

You'll work closely with the founding team to translate product vision into a scalable, reliable, and fast‑moving engineering org.

• Technical vision & architecture for our AI-powered search/visibility product, including diagnostic scoring engines, competitor benchmarking, and AI citation tracking across engines
• Team leadership
  : lead, mentor, and grow a team of 10 engineers (with plans to scale further), setting technical standards and engineering culture
• Infrastructure & scalability
  : build systems that can reliably process large-scale search/LLM data and serve real‑time diagnostics
• Delivery velocity
  : maintain a high‑throughput shipping culture without compromising product quality or system stability
• Hiring & org design
  : help build out the engineering team as we scale post‑seed
• Cross‑functional partnership
  : work directly with founders and product on roadmap, prioritization, and technical trade‑offs

• 8+ years in software engineering, with 3+ years leading engineering teams of 8–15+ people, ideally at a fast‑growing tech or AI company
• Deep experience in search, ML/AI infrastructure, or large‑scale distributed systems
• Experience working with or building on top of LLMs, NLP pipelines, or information retrieval systems is a strong plus
• Proven ability to thrive in early‑stage environments, building processes and product simultaneously, with limited resources and high ambiguity
• A track record of shipping fast without sacrificing engineering rigor
• Strong communication skills, able to represent technical decisions to founders, investors, and non‑technical stakeholders
• Genuine ownership mentality: you want to build something, not just execute a spec
