AI Investment Engineer; f​/m​/d

The Central AI Node is a senior cross-asset AI delivery and technical leadership role within the Investment Platform, reporting to the Area Business Lead for the Investment Technology Area. The role contributes to accelerated AI delivery across Investments in close alignment with asset-class AI Nodes, CIO priorities, D&T delivery capabilities, the AI CoE, and relevant product squads. It also provides functional guidance and leadership to junior Central AI Node roles as the central AI capability evolves.

The role combines investment domain expertise with hands-on AI engineering capabilities. It identifies cross-asset opportunities, translates them into executable delivery topics, and contributes directly to solution architecture, rapid prototyping, reusable AI components, code reviews, and the industrialization of scalable AI solutions. A key focus is to avoid fragmented or duplicated AI development by promoting reuse, shared standards, and a common technical foundation across asset classes.

The Central AI Node does not replace product ownership, squad accountability, or asset-class-specific AI ownership. Instead, it complements these roles by ensuring that cross-asset AI priorities are clearly articulated, technically grounded, and reflected in planning, prioritisation, and delivery discussions. To remain business-relevant, the role stays close to asset-class experts and investment teams while serving as a central interface within the Investment Technology Area for cross-asset AI delivery topics.

• Implements AI solutions and reusable components in collaboration with AI Nodes and maintains regular interaction to strengthen consistency across Investments.
• Contributes to the AI forum as the central mechanism for cross-asset exchange, alignment, challenge, reuse, standards, and accountability.
• Drives follow-through on agreed AI forum actions and promotes collaboration, lessons learned, and reusable implementation approaches across AI Nodes.
• Identifies duplication risks and develops shared patterns, common foundations, and reusable solutions across asset classes.
• Provides functional guidance, coaching, and day-to-day direction to junior Central AI Node roles to build central AI delivery capability and ensure consistency of approach.

• Translates business requirements into executable delivery topics with clear sequencing and expected outcomes.
• Develops prototypes, proofs of concept, reusable AI components, shared frameworks, and the common AI code base.
• Drives reusable, cross-asset technology components through well-abstracted, maintainable, and production-orientated code.
• Applies engineering best practices through code reviews, testing, documentation, SDLC discipline, and CI/CD practices to improve quality, scalability, and maintainability.
• Helps industrialise prototypes and proofs of concept into scalable, maintainable, production-ready AI solutions.

• Acts as a point of contact for D&T on cross-asset AI topics.
• Translates AI priorities into clear demand, delivery requirements, and implementation plans.
• Aligns architecture and implementation decisions with business needs and technical standards.
• Helps feed AI priorities into area planning, OKRs, roadmaps, and relevant sprint discussions.
• Coordinates business and technical dependencies across AI Nodes, CIOs, Product Owners, squads, D&T, the AI CoE, and technology partners.
• Ensures AI initiatives are reflected in delivery priorities without assuming product or squad ownership.

• Delivers AI solutions for investment teams or areas that do not yet have dedicated AI Node capabilities, where applicable.
• Takes delivery responsibility for relevant use cases in such areas within the agreed delivery model.
• Provides hands-on implementation support, prototyping support, or technical guidance where AI capabilities are not yet fully established.
• Integrates these areas into shared standards, reusable components, lessons learned, and the broader Investments AI delivery structure.
