Founded in 1817, Senckenberg Gesellschaft für Naturforschung (SGN) is one of the world's leading research institutions in the field of biodiversity. At our twelve sites in Germany, scientists from over 40 nations conduct cutting-edge research on an international scale. Our headquarter is located in the thriving commercial metropolis of Frankfurt (Mainhatten) in the heart of Germany, which also hosts one of our most famous facilities, the Senckenberg Natural History Museum.
The Paleo climate and Paleoenvironmental Dynamics working group (Prof.
A. Mulch) seeks a geoscientist with research interests in integrating relevant multi-scale characteristics of geological systems with the aim of investigating terrestrial paleo climate or tectonics-climate interaction processes through the application of novel data-driven approaches. Candidates should have a career-equivalent, excellent expertise with topics covering either Earth's long‑term climate and paleoenvironments, mountain building, sedimentary systems, digital and data‑driven analysis methods, isotope geochemistry or similarly related emerging fields.
The successful applicant is expected to be closely involved in collaborative research efforts in the broad field of Earth surface processes and paleo climate dynamics. The Paleo climate and Paleoenvironmental Dynamics working group maintains close ties to Goethe University Frankfurt, in particular the Joint Goethe University
