As aJunior

Industrial Designer at Indeed, you will be focusing on designing innovative products, services, and business models that are driven byholisticstrategy andcirculardesign principles. You willbe partof our interdisciplinary teamof designers, engineers, and strategists who aim to realize purposeful, commerciallyviableproduct solutions that create value for customers, the industry,and our world.

YOU ARE
  • A skilled industrial designer who can cover all stages of the development process – from sketching to prototyping torenderingand presentation/communication.
  • Demonstrating in-depth knowledge in design research and can investigate barriers and opportunities at the policy level, consumer behavior,and in business models throughout the entire life cycle of a product and/or services.
  • A systems thinker who sees the big picture and the long-term impacts beyonda single productor service, as well asall ofits components and interdependencies between them.
  • Capable of understanding the complex layers of system drivers (technological, economic, social, and environmental) that influence the product and/or services to imaginepossibledesigninterventions.
  • Aproficient learner interested in all aspects of circular design and willing to discover the evolving design methods and tools.
  • Understanding inclusive design practices and willing to consider a range of human diversity and different perspectives.
  • An excellent communicator and open-minded for cross-functional collaboration and problem-solving.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Design compelling products, user experiences,and services across industries
  • Research material flows, stakeholder needs, user journeys, and business environments of ecosystems.
  • Investigate and refine(circular) design tools and methods that support recovery, recycling, and extended use cycles.
  • Assess the environmental, economic, and social impact of products and services across their full lifecycle.
  • Identifynewinnovationopportunities where a business can bring relevant product and service developments.
  • Bring fresh ideas to support the creative design process and strategic decision-making.
  • Use your sketching,CADandrenderskills to develop designs, working closely together with our teamof highly professional designers.
  • Support innovation workshops and design sprints that embedcircularitythinking into client teams and company culture.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION
  • Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Circular Design, Sustainable Design, Ecodesign,or related disciplines.
  • 0 – 2years ofhands-on practiceinthe field of industrial/ productdesignwith agoodknowledge of design processes and product development.
  • Strong visual ideation and sketching skills, both physically and digitally (e.g.,Sketch Book, Procreate, Photoshop).
  • Savvy with relevant design tools, such as Solid Works/Rhino,Key Shot, and Adobe CC (specifically PS, AI, ).
  • Passionate about hands-on prototyping from physical cardboard and wire mock-ups to functional 3D printed prototypes.
  • Ability to create compelling narratives to engage clients and other stakeholders.
  • Ability toflexiblywork in multidisciplinary and multicultural design teams.
  • Good knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Recycling.
  • Good foundational knowledge of the circular economy and circular design principle sis a plus.
  • Knowledge about eco-design principles such as biomimicry and cradle-to-cradle is a plus.
  • Industry/client project experience with Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in English(German is a plus).
