An exciting opportunity awaits you to help shape and advance SPORTFIVE’s cloud infrastructure across our Global IT organization in Hamburg. Our colleague Chiron de Jong is looking for an Azure Cloud & Platform Engineer to join his team and play a key role in implementing, operating, and continuously improving our Microsoft Azure environment.

As Azure Cloud & Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the design, administration, governance, and continuous improvement of SPORTFIVE’s Azure platform.
You will act as a technical expert for our cloud infrastructure and help provide the foundation for business-critical services and projects, including Azure Virtual Desktop, AI initiatives, Dynamics 365, integrations, storage solutions, and future Azure-based services.
This role combines hands‑on Azure administration with solution-oriented thinking. We are looking for someone who can operate existing services reliably, support project delivery, and identify where Azure technologies can help solve existing business or IT challenges.
YOUR ROLE AT A GLANCE

- administer and continuously improve SPORTFIVE’s Microsoft Azure environment.
- support the design, implementation, and operation of secure, scalable, and cost-effective Azure infrastructure.
- manage and optimize Azure Virtual Desktop environments and related services.
- provide Azure platform support for business and IT projects, including AI, Dynamics 365, integrations, and other cloud-based initiatives.
- administer Azure resources such as virtual machines, storage accounts, networking components, identity integrations, monitoring, and backup services.
- support the implementation of Azure-based solutions from initial requirements through to stable operations.
- work with Azure Storage services, including Blob Storage, Azure Files, and related data storage technologies.
- help ensure that Azure services are secure, reliable, well‑documented, and aligned with company standards.
- monitor performance, availability, security, and cost efficiency across Azure workloads.
- automate recurring tasks and operational processes using Power Shell, scripting, or infrastructure‑as‑code approaches.
- collaborate with internal IT teams, business stakeholders, and external partners to translate requirements into practical technical solutions.
- identify opportunities where Azure services can simplify processes, improve user experience, or support new business capabilities.
- contribute to cloud governance, operational standards, documentation, and best practices.
- stay up to date with developments across Microsoft Azure and evaluate new technologies that may add value to SPORTFIVE.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
Ideally, you also bring experience with one or more of the following areas:
- Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-140, AZ-305, or similar.
- Infrastructure as Code, for example Bicep, ARM templates, Terraform, or similar technologies.
