Transportation Manager Operations; m​/f​/d AIRBUS

You will work as Transportation Manager (m/f/d) Operations in the department Global Transport Management. In this role, you will move beyond traditional dispatching to focus on the governance of external partners and the satisfaction of Airbus customers.

• Be the primary interface between Satair's business requirements and external transport providers, ensuring that the Airbus global supply chain runs with precision, compliance, and speed. Serve as the operational escalation point and the voice of the business within logistics projects
• Service Provider Management:
  Manage and monitor the performance of global transport service providers and conduct regular performance reviews to ensure adherence to SLAs (Service Level Agreements), costs, and quality standards
• Operational Performance & Governance:
  Oversee the high-level execution of shipments, acting not as a dispatcher, but as the controller of the process, and ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations across the global Airbus network
• Customer & Stakeholder Management:
  Act as the primary transport partner for internal Sales, Customer Order Desk, and Procurement teams. Translate customer needs into logistics solutions and ensure that the “Voice of the Customer” is represented in operational decisions
• Specialized Logistics Solutions:
  Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and coordinator for complex logistics challenges, including AOG (Aircraft on Ground), oversize/out‑of‑gauge shipments, and critical project cargo
• Project Representation:
  Represent the business perspective in cross‑functional projects and ensure that operational realities are considered when new processes or tools are deployed

• A degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a comparable field
• Professional experience in procurement, supplier management, and supply chain/logistics
• Deep understanding of air, ocean, road, and courier transport modes, including the handling of dangerous goods and customs procedures (mandatory)
• Good knowledge of SAP R/3;
  Google Workspace is an advantage
• First experience in process management
• Business‑fluent in German and English
• A relationship builder who bridges the gap between operational logistics and commercial business needs
• Strong conflict‑resolution skills and the ability to hold vendors accountable while maintaining a partnership‑oriented approach
• Ability to work in an international environment and collaborate with colleagues across different time zones and cultures
