Market Lead (m/f/d) About the RoleA fast-growing, premium food manufacturer is seeking a Market Lead to drive commercial growth across key retail channels in the DACH region. This role combines strategic account development with hands‑on commercial execution, focusing on both expanding existing partnerships and winning new business as the company scales across Europe.
The ideal candidate is commercially sharp, strategically minded, and highly collaborative, comfortable managing major retail relationships while proactively identifying and converting new opportunities.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccount Management & Growth
- Manage and grow relationships with key regional and national retail partners.
- Own the full customer lifecycle from JBP creation, forecasting, and promotional planning to performance evaluation.
- Ensure flawless execution across listings, activations, and in-store visibility.
New Business Development
- Identify, target, and secure new retail partnerships across the region.
- Develop compelling commercial proposals and negotiate terms aligned with business objectives.
- Build a strategic pipeline that supports year-on-year revenue acceleration.
Commercial Strategy & Execution
- Deliver sales targets, margin improvement, and category share growth.
- Work closely with the Sales Director to refine channel strategies and regional go-to-market plans.
- Use data and insights to drive assortment recommendations, innovation sell‑ins, and promotional effectiveness.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Category Management to ensure customer needs are met and growth opportunities are maximised.
- Provide market insights and competitive intelligence to help shape broader commercial strategy.
Reporting & Performance Management
- Maintain accurate forecasting, sales tracking, and performance reporting.
- Analyse customer performance to identify risks, opportunities, and required interventions.
- 5+ years' experience in account management within FMCG, preferably within fresh, chilled, or premium food categories.
- Strong relationships or experience working with German retail customers (e.g., EDEKA, REWE, Kaufland, or discounters).
- Proven track record in winning new business and scaling retail accounts.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Commercial mindset with strong analytical capability.
