Optimus Search has partnered with a company in Jena; a leader within the Semiconductor industry specialising in micromechanical and optoelectronic components. They work directly with customers on plasma processes and leverage laser-based analytical methods for precise measurements. Our client employs approximately 550 people across various locations worldwide, generating annual revenues of around 130 million EUR. With four locations in Germany and the headquarters in Wettenberg, the Jena site offers a small, close-knit team from various sister companies and room for personal & professional development.

Expectations of the role:

• As part of a team, you'll create modern high-level device software using a SECS/GEM-compatible framework (C#).
• Your role will involve optimizing and enhancing our existing control software (C++).
• You’ll be responsible for directly coordinating interfaces with customers and making adjustments independently.
• Occasionally, you’ll assist with software commissioning, including on-site visits to customers worldwide (approximately 10% of the time).
• Maintaining communication with customers and service technicians, you’ll address technical inquiries and resolve complaints.
• Your expertise will be crucial in developing innovative software concepts and bringing them to life.
• Version control and documentation will be managed by you as essential components of a professional software development process.

What we expect of you:

• A completed degree in a STEM field or a technical apprenticeship with relevant experience.
• Excellent knowledge of C# in a Microsoft development environment (e.g., Visual Studio).
• Ideally, experience with TwinCAT 3.
• A solid understanding of hardware and measurement methods, ideally with experience in developing devices for the semiconductor industry.
• Openness to new technologies and additional programming languages.
• Being able to grasp the hardware and its measurement methods is not a challenge for you.
• Good English skills – our team is international!
• You are a team player, communicative, and work independently and conscientiously.
