What You’ll Be Doing
What will your essential responsibilities include?
- Ensuring support for industrial key clients and internal departments regarding transport and logistics issues by participating in the underwriting of transport risks, supporting the handling and analysis of claims, and providing comprehensive support for the accounts throughout the entire process chain, in particular through:
- Coordination with the back office for processing and management of transport notifications as well as tracking of initiated monitoring/inspection of loading options
- Reviewing technical preliminary plans and transport concepts to identify, assess, and evaluate transport risks and suggesting measures for risk mitigation
- Accompanying/monitoring transports on site with regard to the suitability of transport equipment, packaging, load securing, loading, lifting and shifting equipment, etc.
- Risk assessments of storage locations through physical inspections
- Preparation of specific reports
- Trainings & workshops on transport logistics and loss prevention topics
- Operational and cost responsibility for assigned accounts
- Participation in the development, implementation, and maintenance of processes and standards
Permanent in Germany or Netherlands
You will report to the Risk Consulting Casualty Team Manager.
What You’ll BringWe’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
- Training as a freight forwarding merchant and/or completed engineering studies with solid knowledge in transportation, logistics, or similar fields, and experience in cargo securing or as a technical expert in maritime transport; or training as a nautical officer
- Several years of professional experience in the maritime industry or in transportation, additional qualifications in the transport/logistics sector with a focus on security aspects of the supply chain are desirable
- Experience in transport insurance or risk management is an advantage
- High flexibility and willingness to travel, including for international assignments or tasks
- Decisiveness and the ability to work independently and proactively
- Confident demeanor and strong communication skills for professional discussions with internal and external partners
- Strong customer orientation and social competence are essential
- Negotiation-level English and German skills and the willingness to actively use them in an international context are required
- Very good command of MS Word, Excel, Outlook
