As our Talent Acquisition Lead – Markets (DE), you’ll be part of the Talent Acquisition team within the People function, working closely with brilliant people across the business and reporting into the Talent Acquisition Manager – Markets. You’ll partner day‑to‑day with Retail leaders and People Partners across Germany, France, Italy and our growth market Spain, helping our stores build teams that deliver a best‑in‑class consumer experience.

This role plays a pivotal part in driving our consumer‑centric strategy across our European Markets. Everything you do will help elevate the Dr. Martens retail experience, from enabling Store Managers to hire confidently, to strengthening candidate quality through proactive sourcing and local market insight. You’ll help us push boundaries, raise the bar, and keep the spirit of DM alive in everything we deliver.
CoreAccountabilities
- Enabling Store Managers to independently recruit Sales Assistant / Keyholder / Senior Sales Assistant populations through clear coaching, tools, and market‑right hiring approaches.
- Owning end‑to‑end recruitment for retail management roles, improving candidate calibre through structured stakeholder feedback and continuous refinement.
- Leading new store opening recruitment (when triggered), building plans, pipelines, and timelines to deliver full hiring outcomes at pace and quality.
- Recruiting across three key markets (DE, FR, IT) plus Spain as a growth market; adapting process, sourcing strategy, and messaging to local nuance and candidate expectations.
- Contributing to the wider People agenda across your markets and supporting broader talent/people initiatives and projects, including shaping EVP, careers site and Linked In content through insight from the field.
- Fluent German and English (minimum); additional European language capability is a strong advantage for multimarket delivery.
- Strong Germany recruitment landscape awareness with a retail‑first mindset; generalist breadth (beyond retail) is advantageous and helps you flex by market need.
- Confident headhunter; able to build pipelines and crack hard‑to‑source locations through proactive mapping, outreach, and network‑led sourcing.
- A natural relationship builder with genuine curiosity for what’s happening in Retail; trusted with stakeholders, credible in challenge, and able to influence hiring choices.
- Comfortable working independently: you drive your own results, use feedback/data to improve hiring outcomes, and continuously sharpen process and candidate quality.
