The Role
Omni Bridgeway is seeking an exceptional and collaborative dispute resolution expert for a role in Germany. You will work as Legal Counsel in the EMEA litigation investment team, focused on German speaking jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities- Providing ongoing management, review and oversight of part of the existing portfolio of funded cases in the German speaking jurisdictions (i.e., mainly Germany, but also Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein).
- First‑level assessment of potential merits of litigation funding opportunities, working closely with lawyers and claimants seeking funding.
- Undertaking analysis of relevant legal issues or other issues as directed.
- Conducting legal and factual due diligence on prospective funding opportunities and supporting the underwriting process.
- Engaging with Omni colleagues across global offices on investment opportunities and company matters.
- Law degree and, preferably, admitted to practice.
- Minimum 2 years post qualification litigation experience, specifically relating to German litigation.
- Fluent in German and English.
- Knowledge of the German courts and litigation process.
- Understanding of (or willingness to acquire an understanding of) financial reporting and the ability to financially analyze public and private companies and trust structures.
