Senior Underwriter

Reporting into the Head of Underwriting, the Underwriter is responsible for ensuring that all underwriting activities are aligned with the Company Underwriting guidelines and application rules. He/she is providing expert understanding and knowledge of the Assistance market and is working in cooperation with x-functional teams to ensure that the groups remains competitive, profitable as well as compliant.

Key Responsibilities

• Complying and promoting AXA Partners Assistance Underwriting Policy and UW delegated authorities and deal approval process
• Ensuring application and governance of overall pricing & underwriting standards
• Leading as role model for other Underwriters and contributing to a highly motivated team to meet every day work and deadlines
• Working closely with clients and Commercial to structure deal terms and prioritizing new business opportunities
• Pro-active managing the in-force portfolio to defend the long-term profitability of the business
• Supporting the Commercial teams on key negotiations and client meetings
• Bachelor/master’s in economics/statistics/mathematics
• Profound knowledge of full scope of travel insurance and partial knowledge of the other P&C risks, background ideally in insurance / assistance company with the proven track
• Very good command in German and English
• High affinity in working with numbers, raw data, ideally expertise on programming
• Strong technical knowledge of product and risk management
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail, as well as creative and well organized
