As Senior AI Adoption Consultant, (m/f/d) you play a central role in the effective and sustainable adoption of AI across the entire Covestro organization. You translate the needs and opportunities of our operating units into concrete, truly adopted AI solutions, drive initiatives in alignment with organizational objectives and technology architecture - and actively build AI capability in the colleagues around you.

In addition to our wide range of benefits, a full-time position offers you an attractive starting salary between €104,800/year and €127,100/year plus a variable component . The starting salary is based on your qualifications and professional experience.

• You own the identification of AI opportunities across the organization - from framing robust, validatable value hypotheses through to the full end-to-end delivery of the resulting AI solutions, including setting the approach , and measuring and communicating the value actually delivered, from which you derive recommendations that shape the next initiatives
• You engage and mobilize owners and senior stakeholders so they are motivated and enabled to turn opportunities into targeted AI initiatives - operating at leadership level and setting direction across functional boundaries
• Responsibility for AI initiatives rests with you: from ideation and conception through to realization, applying agile methods and design thinking
• As the bridge between operating units, domain experts, and technical teams, you own handover quality end to end - deciding where feasibility pre-studies are needed and prioritizing initiatives within the broader AI portfolio
• You own and shape the communication and engagement strategy for AI adoption - making visible what AI makes possible and winning broad participation across the organization - and act as sparring partner for leaders driving AI in their own areas
• You steer external partners - AI solution vendors and strategy/management consultancies - as an equal counterpart: from managing delivery and quality sign-off and knowledge transfer through to measuring and communicating the value delivered
• You design and deliver training and support initiatives, defining standards and curricula that enable user-friendly adoption and optimized use of AI solutions across all user groups
• You guide and develop less senior colleagues, sign off on their work, share expertise , and set best practices and documentation standards for the entire function

This is an individual contributor role: no direct reports, with substantial ownership and decision-making scope.

• University degree (preferably Master's or PhD) in a relevant field such as AI, computer science, business/administration, innovation or technology management, or organizational development
• 7+ years of relevant experience in an international environment - including proven experience leading AI or transformation projects, ideally in the chemical or manufacturing industry ; consulting experience is an advantage
• Working familiarity with the current AI technology landscape - spanning generative, agentic, and analytical/predictive AI - sufficient to assess applicability and engage credibly and substantively with technical experts and vendors; deep technical implementation expertise is not required
• Proven experience leading organizational transformation and change - including how new ways of working are adopted, sustained and scaled across functions
• Excellent communication, persuasion, and influencing skills: audience-aware and outcome-oriented, able to inform, inspire, and lead at all organizational levels, including senior and unit leadership
• Genuine curiosity and learning discipline: a visible track record of exploring, testing, and applying new AI hands-on - and of role‑modeling this for others’ with a clear eye for both the opportunities and the risks
• Cultural agility and the ability to build and sustain relationships in a multicultural, interdisciplinary environment
• Fluent in English (primary working language) and strong German (fluent, written and spoken)
