Position Title: Construction Director

Location: Magdeburg

Tenure: Full Time

The Construction Director will develop the Construction Program for semiconductor clients at Arcadis DPS, focusing on German giga‑projects. The role requires deep understanding of construction requirements in the German market and extensive experience leading semiconductor construction projects. Responsibilities include developing and implementing construction strategies, integrating client requirements with German supply‑chain capabilities, and managing a Construction Management team to deliver safe and on‑time projects.

• Support the creation of robust contracts and construction strategy to enable project delivery.
• Develop construction execution strategies to deliver fast‑track projects (off‑site construction techniques, etc.).
• Procurement, risk assessment and mitigation for German General Contractor and trades.
• Ensure commercial and contract management processes are robust and deliverable.
• Review and improve existing construction procedures and guidelines.
• Review, develop and implement technology to support the management of construction and safety on projects in conjunction with the clients.
• Develop and implement Lean construction techniques.
  
  Support clients on building safety and construction teams.
• Ensure standard reporting processes are in place for key safety and construction KPIs.

• 20+ years of experience in the German construction field (client or construction).
• Previous Construction Manager/Director position in GC or semiconductor client.
• Experience in executing capital projects over €400m.
• Experience with basebuild, tool install, FAB construction requirements.
• Knowledge of project delivery challenges, both local and global.
• Experience in conventional design and construction methodologies.
• Knowledge of alternative delivery methods (design‑build, P3, modular, etc.).
• Demonstrated background in planning, organizing, and executing multiple projects.
• Demonstrated background as an effective Construction lead.
• Excellent track record of running operations and project delivery.
• Knowledge of local construction regulations.
• Knowledge of local employment and business requirements.
• Proven financial and business modelling acumen.

• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Track record in setting high standards of semiconductor construction management.
• Track record in the delivery of €100m+ construction projects.
• Identify key strategic issues and opportunities.
• Develop strong client relationships.
• Provide market and external competitor intelligence.
• Challenge operations directors and teams.
