Our team is our strongest success factor. The Caterpillar Energy Solutions GmbH stands for high-efficiency, eco-friendly plants for decentralized energy generation. The company in Mannheim was founded in 1871 by automobile pioneer Carl Benz and became part of Caterpillar in November 2011. Responsibilities include strategic manufacturing initiatives and leadership across the manufacturing footprint.
- Develop and implement a strategy to modernize manufacturing processes and adopt new technologies (e.g., AI) to improve efficiency and safety.
- Lead and coordinate strategic initiatives to expand manufacturing capacity (finishing, assembly, testing & painting).
- Prepare business cases for strategic investments to increase capacity and improve the manufacturing footprint.
- Lead project managers responsible for strategic projects in Manufacturing Engineering.
- Take responsibility for plant-related maintenance activities (finishing, assembly, test benches & painting).
- Assess maintenance activities conducted internally and by external suppliers to define internal core competencies, increase flexibility, and reduce costs over the product life cycle.
- Support Order-to-Delivery management in developing OPACC improvement strategies.
- Overall responsibility for personnel matters and performance evaluations of employees.
- Successfully completed degree in industrial engineering or equivalent.
- 8–12 years of relevant work experience with increasing responsibility.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and maintenance processes.
- Strong interpersonal skills to handle sensitive topics, develop employees, and persuade internal and external stakeholders.
- Several years of leadership experience and very good organizational skills.
- Practical experience in project management.
- Proficient with IT programs and data analysis tools.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, initiative, and confident demeanor.
- Very good German and English skills (minimum level B2).
- This role is office-based five days per week.
