You take initiative: Collaborate with a global and inter-disciplinary team of researchers in Hitachi Energy Research to drive the development from concept to MVP and partner with product/software teams to bring solutions to production. You propose novel ideas and concepts for the nextnextgeneration of power systems

You collaborate: Build relationships within the company and actively share your knowledge and expertise. Interact with local and global external partners including universities, start-ups, and vendors to integrate diverse perspectives and stakeholder inputs

You investigate: Translate realpower system problems into rigorous models and design computational experiments to quantify accuracy and robustness; ensure reproducibility with versioned code and data. Design innovative approaches for grid operation and deliver them as prototypesoradvancedconcepts

You communicate: Disseminate your results in scientific publications, patent applications, and technical reports. Produce clear design docs and developer-facing examples/ notebooks that enable reuse

PhD in Electrical/Power Systems Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, Mathematics,or Master’sdegree with equivalent industry experience

Provenexpertiseintechnical background inone or multiplepower systems areas

Demonstrated hands-onpower system software tools such as PSCAD,Digsilent Power Factory ,or simila

Strategic thinker pushing the boundaries of power systemsoperations

Excellent communication skillsin English, team player attitude,initiativeandcreativity

Experience incontrol roomorfield operations, experience at DSO/TSO, regulatorybody or similar is a plus

Experience in high-level programming (e.g. Python) is a plus
