Construction Manager – Site Manager, Battery Storage & Grid Connection

Responsibilities

• You act as the link between planning, project management, subcontractors and grid operators.
• You identify issues before they become critical and make independent decisions on site.
• Read and evaluate technical drawings, single-line diagrams and routing plans.
• Conduct on-site surveys of site conditions and existing electrical installations.
• Verify the feasibility of the current plan against on-site conditions.
• Coordinate subcontractors, service providers and clients on site.
• Organize site setup and site facilities on a project basis.
• Support project management with scheduling and construction process coordination.
• Prepare regular construction progress reports for the project team.
• Carry out quality checks and on-site inspections/acceptances.
• Accompany protection tests, grid operator appointments and commissioning activities.

• Solid electrical engineering background through vocational training, further qualification (technician/master craftsman), university degree or many years of practical experience.
• Experience supporting construction projects, ideally as a site manager, lead installer or in a comparable role.
• Confident manner when dealing with subcontractors and clients — the right balance of firmness and a cooperative style.
• Ability to make pragmatic decisions on site while appropriately escalating risks.
• Very good German skills (at least C1).
• Willingness to travel within Germany.
• Preferred: experience with renewable energy installations, ideally battery storage systems.
• Knowledge of grid connections or medium-voltage systems.
• English skills at B1 level or higher.

Demonstrates expertise in electrical engineering and project management, with a strong focus on coordinating construction activities, conducting site inspections, and ensuring compliance with technical specifications. Proficient in managing subcontractors and clients while making informed decisions on-site.
