The Role

In this newly created site-based role reporting to the Finance Manager, your focus will be on the daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly operations including:

• Assisting with month-end close procedures, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Assisting with the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and Trial Balance.
• Conducting account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Preparing journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts in accordance with HGB/IFRS standards.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, accurately recording and reconciling invoices and payments.
• Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes, analysing variances and providing recommendations for improvement.
• Supporting external audit and tax activities by providing documentation as needed.
• Collaborating with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency

Your Background

A tertiary qualified finance professional, your background is in hands-on financial accounting. You enjoy working in a small team, are technically astute with the ability to communicate financial matters to non-financial stakeholders. You bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
• General accounting experience Ideally, but not mandatory, within an industry that has inventory
• Technical accounting knowledge in HGB and/or IFRS
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
• Knowledge of ERP systems
• Strong analytical and trouble-shooting skills
• Attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• A genuine curiosity to delve into processes, procedures and issues to understand them
• Ability to work with non-finance people
