Interim Business Controller

Interim Finance / Business Controller (Hands-on) – Munich / remote in Europe

3 month contract (initially) | Start ASAP | On-site / Hybrid

Day Rate contract

We’re supporting a fast-paced, scale-up culture business (€300m+ turnover) with multiple recent acquisitions. They urgently need an interim Finance Manager / Business Controller to step in alongside the current Finance lead and ensure continuity, control, and a robust handover ahead of a planned change.

This is a hands-on, operational role suited to someone who thrives in environments with manual processes, tight deadlines, and real ownership.

• Take ownership of monthly close support and day-to-day controlling activities
• Manage hands-on financial tasks including inventory reconciliation and accruals (booking/releasing)
• Ensure strong KPI tracking, performance control, and reliable reporting
• Work closely with local stakeholders (commercial & operational teams) to understand business drivers
• Support documentation, process capture, and full handover to the incoming permanent hire
• Maintain stability and financial control through the next quarter

• Strong experience in business controlling with an accounting background
• Excel-first, detail-oriented, and comfortable owning recurring processes
• Proactive, pragmatic, and collaborative — able to work closely with the team during transition
• Ideally 5–7+ years’ experience for interim level impact and independence

This is a critical interim assignment where you’ll play a key role in maintaining control, supporting continuity, and preparing the business for long-term restructuring and permanent hiring.
