• Contribution to multidisciplinary teams with own scientific expertise to achieve corporate and customer goals of challenging drug discovery projects within biologics early drug development
• Establishing and managing research projects as project scientist including independent planning and execution of research project
• Development, execution, and optimization of protein productions for downstream applications (fit‑for‑purpose)
• Characterization and evaluation of drug candidates by state‑of‑the‑art biochemical and biophysical method
• Evaluation of new technology/equipment to constantly improve biologics platform
• Preparation of all relevant project documentation (i.e. project plans, SOPs, scientific presentations, technical reports), their review and training
• Presentation of the scientific results as well as convincing and confident communication of the content to colleagues, customers, and business partner

• PhD in biochemistry or related field with an excellent proven track record
• Ideally 1–2 years working experience in the pharmaceutical industry regarding the development of protein therapeutics
• Good acquaintance with transient protein expression in mammalian cell culture, purification process optimization and in‑depth physicochemical characterization (i.e. using HPLC methods) of antibody‑based candidates
• Strong acquaintance regarding rational construct design, protein expression (mammalian, insect, bacterial), chromatographic purification techniques, purification process optimization and protein characterization methods
• Experience with non‑antibody‑based biologics as assay platforms
• Hands‑on mentality with a problem‑solving mindset and attention to detail
• Great interest in scientific project management
• Experience with industry‑standard operational management tools such as LIMS systems
• Independent, service‑oriented way of working, with an outstanding team spirit and excellent organization and communication skills
