Head of Medical Affairs & Clinical Development (m/f/d)

13. October 2026

Shape the Medical and Scientific Future of Innovative Diagnostics.

Do you want to do more than support innovative diagnostics from a scientific perspective? Are you passionate about advancing clinical development, biomarker research, and turning scientific evidence into meaningful medical progress? Then we’d love to hear from you.

As Head of Medical Affairs & Clinical Development, you will take strategic and scientific responsibility for our Medical Affairs function. You’ll drive the clinical development of existing and new biomarkers, establish robust clinical evidence strategies, and expand our scientific network. You’ll also lead and mentor a Junior Medical Affairs Manager and contribute to the expansion of our technology platform beyond dermatology.

Your Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead our Medical Affairs strategy, set scientific priorities, and shape the continued development of our Medical Affairs function.
  • A key focus of your role will be developing clinical development and evidence generation strategies for existing and new biomarkers - from clinical validation through to adoption in clinical practice.
  • Design retrospective and prospective clinical studies, define appropriate patient populations, comparators, and clinical endpoints, and oversee the development of study protocols.
  • Take responsibility for the scientific evaluation and interpretation of clinical data, translating findings into actionable next steps for further development.
  • Build and expand our network of Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), clinical study sites, and scientific partners, initiating collaborations, advisory boards, and scientific studies.
  • Ensure the scientific accuracy and quality of our medical and product-related communications, developing key scientific messages for publications and medical communications.
  • Collaborate closely with Research & Development, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial, and Business Development, contributing your medical and scientific expertise to our product and pipeline strategy.
  • Provide scientific leadership and mentorship to our Junior Medical Affairs Manager, setting priorities and delegating operational responsibilities.
Your Profile
  • A degree in medicine or a natural science discipline, ideally with a doctoral qualification (MD, PhD, or equivalent).
  • Several years of professional experience in Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Translational Medicine, or Biomarker Development.
  • Proven experience in designing clinical studies for biomarkers, diagnostic tests, or companion diagnostics, combined with a strong understanding of clinical validation and evidence generation strategies.
  • The ability to translate complex scientific challenges into well-structured development strategies and critically evaluate and interpret clinical data.
  • Experience collaborating with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), clinical study sites, and scientific partners, with a strong understanding of the scientific and clinical environment.
  • A strategic mindset combined with a pragmatic, independent approach and a willingness to take a hands-on role in a dynamic company.
  • Initial experience in providing scientific leadership, mentoring, or developing team members.
  • Very good German and English communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Nice to have:
Experience in dermatology, oncology, or neurology, particularly with diagnostic, predictive, or prognostic biomarkers, would be an advantage. We also welcome knowledge of molecular diagnostics (e.g., PCR, NGS, or gene expression analysis), IVDR and Clinical Performance Evaluation, as well as experience collaborating with pharmaceutical or biotechnology
    companies.
  • A strategically important role in an innovative Med Tech environment, offering a high degree of autonomy, exciting scientific challenges, and the opportunity to make a real impact.
  • Flexible working hours and the option to work remotely.
  • 30 days of annual leave to recharge.
  • An individual professional development budget and a wide range of opportunities to grow.
  • Hansefit membership to support your health and well-being.
  • A company pension scheme with commission-free retirement savings options, independent advice, and attractive conditions.
  • Corporate benefits, including attractive discounts from numerous brands and providers.
  • Flat hierarchies, short decision-making processes, and an open company culture where great ideas can quickly become reality.
  • Regular team events and our annual company retreat.
