Stellenbeschreibung
Stellenbezeichnung: (Senior) Lean Manufacturing & Assembly Engineer (m/f/d)

Overview

At EGYM, we build complex, connected smart fitness equipment that combines heavy steel structures, sensitive electronics, precise drive systems, and proprietary software. To support our global growth, we are scaling our production network and building the operational foundation for future assembly concepts. As our (Senior) Lean Manufacturing & Assembly Engineer (m/f/d), you will play a key role in increasing assembly output, reducing lead times, improving OTIF, and lowering assembly costs across our production network.

This is an individual contributor role with high strategic relevance: you will work hands‑on with suppliers on the shop floor, drive measurable capacity improvements, and translate your learnings into EGYM standards for future assembly setups.

Apply now and join our team in Munich!

Responsibilities
  • Supplier Assembly Scaling:
Analyze assembly processes at our global system suppliers, identify bottlenecks, and drive improvements to increase output, reduce lead times, and improve delivery reliability.
  • Lean Process Optimization:
Apply Lean and Industrial Engineering methods to improve takt time, cycle time, material flow, workstation design, line balancing, and manpower utilization.
  • Assembly Cost Reduction:
Translate process improvements into measurable reductions in manufacturing & assembly effort, labor cost, rework, and overall assembly cost.
  • EGYM Assembly Blueprint & Future Concepts:
Capture learnings from supplier operations and translate them into scalable EGYM assembly standards, shaping future assembly concepts across Europe and North America, including partner‑operated lines, pilot cells, and potential in‑house assembly setups.
  • Standard Work & Documentation:
Create and maintain process documentation, standard work, time studies, capacity models, layout concepts, and line balancing analyses.
  • Cross‑Functional

    Collaboration:

Work closely with Production, R&D, Procurement, Quality, Logistics, and supplier teams to turn technical and operational requirements into scalable assembly processes.
  • Shop Floor Execution:
Lead hands‑on improvement activities, Kaizen workshops, and structured problem‑solving directly at supplier sites.
Qualifications
  • Lean Manufacturing & Operational Excellence: 7+ years of experience in Lean Manufacturing, assembly process optimization, line balancing, capacity planning, time studies, and continuous improvement initiatives, supported by strong knowledge of Lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Kaizen, 5S, Kanban, Poka‑Yoke, and structured root‑cause analysis methods.
  • Assembly & Industrial Manufacturing Expertise:
Hands‑on experience in complex assembly environments involving mechatronic products, machinery, automotive systems, industrial equipment, or comparable manufacturing operations.
  • Process Analysis & Improvement Methods:
Skilled in conducting structured time studies (e.g., REFA or MTM) and applying data‑driven problem‑solving approaches, with Six Sigma Green Belt certification or a comparable qualification considered an advantage.
  • Technical & Systems Competence:
Able to interpret technical drawings, understand BOM structures, analyze production and process data, and work confidently with ERP, MES, and production reporting systems.
  • Stakeholder Management & Execution:
Strong analytical capabilities with a hands‑on shop‑floor mindset, able to effectively influence suppliers and cross‑functional stakeholders without direct disciplinary authority.
  • International Collaboration & Communication:
Fluent in German and English, with Spanish considered a plus, and willing to travel regularly across Europe and occasionally to North America (ca. 60‑70%).
Training Goals for the First 6 Months
  • Product Understanding:
Develop a strong understanding of products, assembly processes, supplier networks, and production strategies.
  • Supplier Assessments:
Visit key suppliers and evaluate assembly performance, bottlenecks, and capacity improvement opportunities.
