Senior Business Intelligence Expert

• 5+ years’ hands‑on experience in Business Intelligence and data platforms
• Strong expertise in modern BI and data architectures such as Lakehouse or enterprise data warehouse concepts
• Proven experience in data modelling and building ETL/ELT pipelines
• Practical knowledge of BI and analytics tools (e.g. Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud, IBM Planning Analytics)
• Solid experience integrating data from SAP S/4
  
  HANA and other ERP or source systems
• Good understanding of data governance principles, including security, roles and authorizations, data lineage, and metadata/catalog solutions
• Structured, analytical, and solution‑oriented approach with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Fluency in both German and English (spoken and written)
• Experience working with Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, or Snowflake
• Familiarity with advanced architectural patterns such as Data Vault
• Prior experience acting as a BI solution owner or leading BI‑related initiatives
• Exposure to planning and forecasting solutions within a BI ecosystem
• Interest in emerging technologies such as advanced analytics, AI‑enabled reporting, and data automation
• Experience collaborating across IT and business teams in complex enterprise environments

Role & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and continuously evolve the organization’s BI architecture using modern, scalable data technologies
• Build and maintain a centralized enterprise data platform (data warehouse or lakehouse) serving as the single source of truth for reporting, planning, analytics, and future AI use cases
• Define standards for data pipelines, reporting structures, and governance to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance
• Develop and enhance a modern reporting and planning landscape tailored to business needs
• Ensure reliable day‑to‑day operation of the BI environment, including responsibility for 1st and 2nd level support and ongoing system optimization
• Lead strategic BI initiatives end‑to‑end, from requirements analysis through implementation and rollout
• Act as Solution Owner for BI platforms, coordinating closely with internal stakeholders and external partners
• Evaluate and introduce new tools, technologies, and methodologies to improve performance, scalability, and automation
• Support the development of a cross‑functional BI community by enabling self‑service analytics, conducting trainings, and promoting data‑driven ways of working
