Your Role

As Senior Automation QA Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring that every release of CUJU delivers a smooth and delightful experience to our users. You design, implement, and maintain automated tests that validate critical business flows in our backend systems and support the mobile QA team with sustainable UI automation. Working closely with Backend, Mobile, QA, and Product, you translate business requirements into robust automated tests – ensuring high quality, reliability, and confidence in every release.

Backend Test Automation

• Design, implement, and maintain automated API tests
• Cover business logic and service integrations with well-structured automated tests
• Correlate test failures with application logs and metrics to provide clear, actionable defect reports
• Collaborate with backend engineers to improve testability
• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines to provide fast, reliable feedback
• Plan performance, load, and reliability tests for backend services with the engineering team
• Define and track relevant quality and performance metrics to monitor system health over time

UI Test Automation

• Support the mobile testing team in building and maintaining mobile UI automation for iOS and Android
• Help identify the most valuable user flows for automation and keep regression suites maintainable and stable

Manual Testing & Collaboration

• Work closely with the mobile testing team to
• Identify which scenarios should be automated vs. tested manually
• Support manual exploratory and regression testing for backend and mobile apps
• Work closely with Product and QA to translate business requirements and acceptance criteria into automated test scenarios
• Communicate test strategies, coverage, and results clearly to developers, PMs, and other stakeholders

Continuous Improvement

• Continuously refine and improve our automation strategy, tooling, and processes
• Participate in sprint planning, refinements, and retrospectives, bringing a strong quality mindset
• Help evolve our overall QA & testing culture (shift-left, quality gates, metrics, etc.)

• 5+ years of experience in software testing, with a strong focus on test automation
• Solid experience in API test automation (ideally Playwright + Typescript or similar)
• Hands‑on experience with mobile UI automation (ideally with Appium + Java or similar)
• Strong understanding of testing methodologies
• Proven ability to translate business and product requirements into automated test cases and scenarios
• Strong focus on code quality, maintainability and test design
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Git Lab CI, Bitbucket Pipelines, or similar)
• Familiarity with REST/Graph

• Excellent communication skills in English and a strong team‑player mindset
